Top trends for your 2025 Wedding.
With the 2024 Wedding season almost over, we take a look at some of the trends that we expect to see in 2025. So have the weddings inspired by Bridgerton and Downton Abbey become a thing of the past? Or are we shifting in the same direction but with a slightly more ‘flamboyant’ spin on it?
Let’s take a look at what we think we will see next wedding season.
- Avant Garde wedding fashion
Although there will still be a nod towards the historical trends that we have seen in 2024, we believe that wedding fashion will be more ‘out there’. Think Avant Garde wedding dresses, creative wedding attire, mini wedding dresses, floral wedding dresses, long, textured veils and the return of tuxedos. Creative bouquets are new to the scene too that include lights, feathers, bags and bright colours. We also think that we will see a decline in the ‘up’ hairstyle, instead replaced with long, flowing locks and 60s inspired flicks. Colour will be key!
- Maximalist Décor
2025 will be as over-the-top as can be! Florals will take over the venue and in as many colours as you can possibly get away with. We expect to see traditional lighting almost fade into the background as we make way for neon signs, lanterns and floating candles. Long tables are also set to replace round, intimate settings (Plas Dinam have been on this trend a while). And again to provide that maximalist touch, we will see the return of champagne towers and ice sculptures.
- Non-traditional weddings
There has been a steady decline in traditional weddings (think churches, hymns, not seeing each other the night before the big day) and these have been replaced almost on a 360 degree turn. We now see more wedding vows taking place in woods, on lawns and in grand rooms with a celebrant to officiate. The ceremonies have now become a lot shorter (who doesn’t need an excuse to party longer!) and many couples are opting to spend the morning together getting ready for their big day. And for those who prefer not to speak in front of everyone, a new trend is to have private vow readings before the ceremony. Weddings have also become a lot more relaxed so that the couple can enjoy more time with their family and friends and have now become multi-day wedding events with dinners and cocktails on the wedding eve and barbecues and games the day after. At Plas Dinam we have all that you need for a few days stay including a pizza oven, lawn games, billiard room and table tennis. Why not have one day as a Murder Mystery dinner? It’s the perfect venue for this!
- Embellished extras
The extras that you add to your day to make it that little bit more unique are also going to be moving from the traditions that we are used to seeing. Although not everywhere. We have seen a rise in desserts and sweet carts taking over from wedding cakes of late but we are now shifting back towards decadent cakes – and the more grand and elaborate, the better! Also, we will see a rise in heart-shaped cakes. Photography now has an emphasis on ‘As it happens’. With less posing and set up photos, we will see more ‘in the moment’ pictures which will be as natural as possible. More entertainment will include interactive experiences (tattooists and audio recording guest books are new to the scene) , and videographers and photographers will be joined by content creators to indulge in your passion for social media posts.
- Sustainable Weddings
As always here at Plas Dinam, sustainability is top of our priority list and this trend is one that keeps improving year on year. We ask that you make your wedding as climate friendly as possible and use decorations that are easily recycled so that we have less waste. We offer a list of suppliers from around the close area meaning that the carbon footprint is lessened and who use local and seasonal produce and we use local florists who grow their own flowers. Wedding favours can be easily sustainable with wild flowers packets, jars of homemade jam, homemade biscuits or gins made from your own fruit. Stationary can be created on 100% recycled materials and wedding gifts can be donations to a charity of the couples choice.
Whatever you are planning for your 2025 ceremony, we are sure it will be amazing and we look forward to seeing you!
